ATEX Explosion Proof Mobile Phone For Hazardous Area

General Principles

Classification of flammable gas and vapor hazard areas

Area classification can be done by direct analogy with typical installations described in established codes, or by a more quantitative approach that requires a more detailed knowledge of the plant. The first step is to identify the sources of combustible gas or vapor releases. These may come from ongoing activity; from time to time during normal operation; or as a result of an accidental event. In addition, the interior of process equipment may be a hazardous area if both gases/vapors and air are present, although there is no actual release.

Area classification studies do not consider catastrophic failures such as blood vessel or pipeline ruptures. A hazard identification process, such as a Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA) or Hazard and Operability Study (HAZOP), should consider these unusual events.

The standard most commonly used in many countries to determine the scope and classification of zones is BS EN 60079 Part 101, which has wide applicability. The current version specifies a direct link between the amount of combustible vapor that may be released, the ventilation at that location, and the zone number. It contains a simple calculation that relates zone size to the rate of gas or vapor release, but it is not helpful for liquid releases because the evaporation rate of the liquid controls the size of the hazardous zone.

What is the ‘Zoning’ In The Hazardous Areas?

A hazardous area is defined in the Explosive Gas Safety Regulations as “any place where explosive gases may occur and where special precautions are required to protect workers”. In this case, the “special precautions” should preferably relate to the construction, installation and use of the equipment, as shown in BS EN 60079-101.

Area classification is a method of analyzing and classifying potentially explosive atmospheres. The main purpose is to facilitate the correct selection and installation of equipment for safe use in this environment, taking into account the properties of flammable materials. dSEAR specifically extends the original scope of this analysis to take into account non-electrical ignition sources and mobile equipment that pose an ignition risk.

Based on the assessment of the frequency and duration of occurrence of explosive atmospheres, the hazardous area is divided into the following zones:

Zone 0:Areas where explosive atmospheres are present continuously or for long periods of time;

Zone 1: Areas where explosive atmospheres may occur during normal operation;

Zone 2: areas where explosive atmospheres are unlikely to occur during normal operation, and if they do occur, they will only be present for a short period of time.

Various sources have attempted to set time limits for these zones, but none have been formally adopted. The most commonly used values are :

Zone 0:1000h/year or more explosive atmospheres

Zone 1: Explosive environment more than 10 hours, but less than 1000h/year

Zone 2: Explosive environment of less than 10 hours/year duration, but there is still sufficient potential to require control of the fire source.

These values are most appropriate when one wishes to quantify the zone definition, but for most situations, a purely qualitative approach is sufficient.

Once a plant’s hazardous areas have been classified, the rest are defined as non-hazardous areas, sometimes referred to as “safety zones”.

Area definitions do not take into account the consequences of release. If this aspect is important, it can be addressed by improving equipment specifications or controlling the activities allowed in the area. The alternative of more conservative area designation is generally not recommended because it would lead to additional difficulties in equipment selection and would be illogical in controlling the health effects of the presumed presence of vapors. When an occupier chooses to define a large area as Zone 1, the practical consequences can be usefully discussed during site inspections.

Benefits of ATEX Explosion Proof Mobile Phone in the Hazardous Area?

1.Provide Safe and Secure Mobile Communications
ATEX Explosion Proof Mobile Phone provide safe and secure mobile communications in classified or hazardous areas. You can stay connected within Class 1, Zone 1 classified hazardous areas (Zone 1/21, Zone 1, Zone 2/22). Intrinsically safe cell phones must meet specific battery design standards to achieve UL, ATEX directives, or IECEx certification for use in explosive environments.

2. Equipment Life
In manufacturing, rugged industrial handpieces play a key role in the entire value chain, from material collection, inbound and outbound logistics, procurement, demand management, order fulfillment, and manufacturing process management, to product development, commercialization, and last-mile delivery. Therefore, the first benefit of a ruggedized facility is its extremely durable and tested construction, enabling the equipment to operate under extreme climatic and operating conditions, as well as their resistance to physical shock, moisture, water, heat, and even sandstorms.

3. Inventory Management
Factory and warehouse management is essential for manufacturers. These warehouses store a variety of valuable items, parts and raw materials that can be used for a variety of manufacturing processes, machine maintenance and distribution. These along with finished goods mean keeping in an organized order and having proper accountability at all times. Did you know? rfid-based rugged devices greatly help improve inventory management by extending real-time information about goods entering and leaving the warehouse without opening boxes.

4. Maintenance machinery
The success of a manufacturing unit depends on the smooth operation of all machines to maintain the required level of efficiency in the production process. The use of industrial rugged phones has proven to be very beneficial to engineers as they allow them to seamlessly update accurate information records, share and access data in real time with managers and teams, and interact easily with customers and stakeholders. Overall, ruggedized devices improve communication, consistency, synchronization, reduced downtime, faster decision making, and increased productivity.

5. Improved process visibility
All of their work now needs to be in sync with each other, which means they need to always be told which operations need attention, which items are available, which need to be replaced or filled, which orders are waiting to be delivered, and so on. This means they need to communicate with each other at different touch points with real-time data, updates and information. Here, they take advantage of the Industrial Rugged cell phone, which allows them to communicate with each other effortlessly and instantly, and most importantly, provides complete visibility of the entire manufacturing process from start to finish.

        There are a number of contributing factors which can affect the audio performance of your device:

        The most common cause of poor sound quality is water in the microphone or speaker.

        If the handset has been subject to immersion in water then the microphone and speaker may need to dry out to resume normal functionality.

        You, or the other person you are speaking with, maybe in an area of poor signal. Try moving to a different area.

        You may have dirt/debris covering the microphone or speaker. If so, clean your device.
